What is ChickMail?
ChickMail is a free web-based e-mail. With ChickMail, you can easily access your e-mail from any computer in the world. Sending and receiving e-mail from ChickMail is as easy as going to www.chickmail.com, logging in, and sending an e-mail. All you need to do is

Why should I use
ChickMail?
WORLDWIDE
ACCESS TO YOUR E-MAIL
ChickMail is web-based. You can check your
mail from more than one computer, and your mail will always be
available to you since it is stored at ChickMail on the World Wide
Web.
- ChickMail allows you access to your
e-mail from wherever you are: at work, while traveling,
at the local public library, or at school in the computer
lab.
- ChickMail gives you a central storage
place! You can read the same piece of mail from home and
from work, from a cyber cafe or from your friend's house.
- You don't need to own a computer to
use ChickMail. All you need is a web connection, and
ChickMail will store all of your e-mail for future
reference.
MAXIMUM PRIVACY AND SECURITY
ChickMail provides you with maximum
privacy and security.
- If you shared your computer in the
past and are worried about someone else reading your e-mail, now you don't have to be worried.
ChickMail is your own private e-mail account.
- ChickMail is safe and secure. With our
logout feature, no one else can access your e-mail (as
long as you keep your password a secret!). In addition, if you forget to log out, ChickMail automatically logs you out after 90 minutes.

USEFUL FEATURES
- Address Book: ChickMail
is your global address book. No need to carry all of your
contacts with you. We store all of your personal contacts
on the world wide web, allowing you to travel light.
- Attachments: you can
send web pages or gifs directly from ChickMail, and it
will be automatically displayed for the person at the
other end. No need to wait for long downloads.
- Vacation Reply: we'll
automatically respond to people when you are away. Just
tell us when and what to say.
- Signature: you can
customize your e-mails with your own personal sign off,
and we'll automatically attach it to the bottom of your
e-mails -- end with your address, a favorite quote, or
the URL of your personal home page.
- Address Blocking: use special filters to control unwanted e-mail - block incoming mail from addresses you specify, from a know list of "spammers," or from all addresses except those you "pre-approve."
- Check POP Mail: you can configure your ChickMail account as a convenient "one stop" location to access all of your POP mail accounts.

What type
of browser do I need?
To use the frames-version of ChickMail, you will need a
frames and Javascript compatible browser such as Netscape,
version 3.0 or higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 3.0
or higher.
Internet Explorer 3.0 does have some small limitations with Javascript. For the nonframes-version of ChickMail, most browsers are supported. ChickMail supports text-based browsers such as version 2.0 of Lynx. The nonframes version does not however support Web TV.
Caution:
The Windows 3.x platform does not support Javascript properly.The frames-version of ChickMail will therefore not function with this platform.

Who should use nonframes?
ChickMail comes in two versions, nonframes and frames. To successfully use
the frames version of ChickMail, you need to be using a browser that
supports frames and Javascript, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or
Netscape, version 3.0 or higher. If you are not using an appropriate browser
and version, you should use our nonframes version. Additionally, anyone on
the Windows 3.x platform and some people behind firewalls should use nonframes to successfully access ChickMail. Our nonframes version does not support Web TV; you therefore need to use a
different browser to use ChickMail (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or
Netscape).
